Stay in touch using a Webcam
Choosing the right Webcam can be difficult for anyone. Your situation makes it that much more confusing. There are dozens of Webcams on the market. How do you pick the right one? A good place to start would be my Webcam buying guide. It will answer some questions about what types of Webcams are available. It also covers the reasons why people use Webcams. You can read it here. As I said, you have some special considerations. I've gotten some information from other military members. It may help you decide. Apparently the Internet connection over there can be spotty or slow. This matters when choosing a Webcam. Some Webcams tout high-quality video. Some boast built-in effects and other features. These tend to be the expensive ones. Your wife may have a hard time receiving high-quality video. But you also want it to work. The cheapest Webcams usually aren't very reliable. My wife, whom I love dearly, is deploying to Iraq for 12 months. I can't go a year without seeing her. I need help picking out what kind of Webcam I should buy. I'm very confused. Please help.
Your wife is headed off to a tough job. Being able to converse face-to-face will be a comfort for both of you.
